Nephral Plus

is a nutritional supplement which is completely natural product, a combination of several highly purified naturally available terpenes.

Nephral Plus  ingredients and its pharmacological action :

Ingredients Effect
Pinen Diuretic, antibacterial
Camphene Hyperemic, Choleretic, antibacterial, spasmolytic
Borneol Choleretic, vasodilatory, antibacterial, analgesic, spasmolytic
Polyoxeythylene sorbitan monooleate Improves solubility of solid particles (Increases calcium solubility)
Vitamin A vitamin A prevents the enzymatic degradation of  important urinary crystallization inhibitors necessary to inhibit stone formation.
Vitamin B6 ( pyridoxine) vitamin B6 may decrease oxalate production and  reduce the risk of kidney stone formation.

Indications of Nephral Plus

1

Supports the normal physiological function of kidneys and the urinary system.

2

Assists in the dissolution of existing urinary tract stones and helps to prevent new stone formation.

3

Assists in maintaining normal solubility of calcium salts and other particles in the urinary tract.

4

Relieves pain , spasm , discomfort associated with urinary tract stones ( spasmolytic), thus assisting the passage of stones.

5

Can be successfully combined with lithotripsy (before and after lithotripsy).

6

Has urinary tract diuretic function.

  • Stone Clearance:

Improving Stone Clearance after Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy in Urolithiasis Patients by a Special Terpene Combination: Results of a placebo-controlled, Randomized Trial. Vol.9. Issue 12 Dec. 2010
    N= 222 Urolithiasis patients.

  • Duration of study:

June 2003 and December 2006, Clinically unapparent kidney or ureter stones who had undergone complication-free ESWL. All patients underwent physical examination, and the diagnosis of kidney stones was made by x-ray, intravenous pyelogram (1VP), or ultrasound at weeks 1, 4, 8, and 12 as well as after 2 weeks of follow-up.

  • Intervention

Patients were randomized to receive either 3×2 terpene combination capsules per day or placebo.

  • Results:

Significantly more patients treated with the terpene combination were stone free at the end of the study compared to placebo  (intention-to-treat 72 patients [67.9%] vs 49 patients ; p = 0.0009; 69 patients [78.4%] vs 48 patients [52.2%]; p = 0.0004) 72 patients [67.9%] vs 49 patients [50.0%] ( terpene combination vs placebo).

The terpene combination treatment significantly reduced the median time to stone-free status 85.0 days vs 56.0 days (terpene combination vs placebo).

Indian Journal of Clinical Biochemistry

1

Effect of pyridoxine (Vitamin-B6) supplementation on calciuria and oxaluria levels of 20 normal healthy persons and 17 urinary stone patients has been studied.

2

Mean 24 hour urinary calcium and oxalate levels of controls (healthy persons) and stone patients were estimated in pre-supplementation period and at every 20 days interval during supplementation.

3

Stone patients were divided into two groups viz., mild hyperoxaluriacs and moderate hyperoxaluriacs, based on their pre-supplementation (base line) oxaluria levels.

4

60 days of pyridoxine supplementation, at the rate of 10 mg/day, resulted in a significant decrease (p<0.01 for mild hyperoxaluriacs and p<0.001 for moderate hyperoxaluriacs) in mean 24 hour urinary oxalate levels of urinary stone patients

Clinical efficacy of Nephral Plus

  • Promotes disintegration of stones
  • Forced stone expulsion: expulsion rates are higher and accelerated
  • Impact on symptomatic improvement: high number of improved symptoms in treated patients.
  • Promotes relief of frequency and urgency associated with mild urinary tract infection.
  • Excellent safety profile: no or only mild adverse reactions in response to treatment
  • Prevention: anti-lithogenic effect leads to decreased oxalic acid concentration, calcium oxalate formation and calcium content in renal tissue
  • Pharmacodynamics: represent a multi-targeted terpene action which covers the pathophysiological situation.
